Perched on a Catskills hillside: a 2,325 square foot mountain home on a 35 by 45 foot footprint, with a second-story loft over a double-height living space and a full walk-out basement. The house is sited into the slope so the gable end becomes a wall of glass, and every main living space looks straight out at the mountains. Working with the hillside instead of against it also bought a walk-out lower level and better sun exposure. Iron Grey Hardie siding, black standing seam roofing, Sierra Pacific and Pella windows and doors. The panelized shell went together in about two weeks, during winter.
